Wagner leader Prigozhin dies in a plane crash in Russia. Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of Wagner, a private military firm, died in an aircraft crash.
According to the BBC, Prigozhin was one of ten passengers on a private plane that crashed in the north of Moscow, Russia’s capital, on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
According to the Russian Civil Aviation Authority, the Embraer aircraft was carrying seven passengers and three crew members on its way from Moscow to St. Petersburg.

Just two days ago, Prigozhin delivered his first video speech since his failed June rebellion.
In the video, Prigozhin looked to be in Africa, and he spoke of Russia making the region “free.”
