Peter Obi meets Akpabio and other APC senators in Kano. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, met with Senate President Godswill Akpabio and other All Progressives Congress (APC) senators in Kano state.
The Labour Party chieftain was flanked in one of the now-viral images by Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, and one other politician.
According to reports, Peter Obi and other dignitaries are now attending the wedding of Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin’s son, Abdullahi.
Abdullahi is going to marry his sweetheart, Bilkisu Aliyu Sani Madaki, daughter of Rep Aliyu Sani Madaki, Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives.
Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the House of Representatives, governors, and key politicians attended Fatiha’s wedding after juma’at prayers at Isyaka Rabiu Juma’at Mosque in Goron Dutse, Kano.
The wedding also has the presence of Vice President Kashim Shettima.
According to Daily Trust, Shettima stood in as the groom’s Wali, who on behalf of the family took the marriage oath and presented N500,000 as dowry, while Abbas accepted the groom’s proposal and gave the bride’s hand in marriage.
The wedding Fatiha was duly observed according to Islamic rites led by the Chief Imam of Isyaku Rabiu Juma’at mosque, Sheikh Abdullahi Mahmud Salga.
