Ganduje Mocks Kwankwaso Over FCT Ministerial Snub. Abdullahi Ganduje, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has mocked his predecessor in Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, for failing to get selected as a minister.
Ganduje accused the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) of backing the disputed destruction of structures in Kano in a 28-second viral video.
The APC chairman stated that the only way Kwankwaso and his political godson and Kano governor, Abba Yusuf, could demonstrate their displeasure was to demolish facilities approved by his administration.
He said that President Bola Tinubu was wise enough to see through Kwankwaso’s eagerness to become the next Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister.
The former Kano governor made these remarks on Monday during a courtesy visit to the APC National Secretariat in Abuja by some of his loyalists and party supporters from Kano state.
According to Ganduje, Kwankwaso, and Yusuf are destroying his legacy in the state by demolishing structures in the name of sanitising Kano’s master plan.
“Is it not the FCT minister position that he desired?” he asked in Hausa. That is why he razed structures in Kano under the pretense of defending the master plan. He can’t tell you what the main plan is if you ask him.
“All you’ll hear is, ‘We’re going to reset the Kano master plan.'” We have assured Kano residents that we will destroy structures up to 1,000 stories tall.’ Look, if an illiterate does not realise he is one, he is blind. That is what happened to him.”
