Four dead and seven others injured as mosque collapses on worshippers in Zaria. Four people were allegedly killed and seven others were injured when the Zaria Central Mosque in Kaduna State fell on worshippers as they were praying.
On Friday, August 11, 2023, at about 4:00 p.m., the victims were doing Asr’s prayers.
Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, the Emir of Zazzau, acknowledged the occurrence.
“We had previously observed a crack on the wall of the mosque yesterday, and were planning to deploy a team of civil engineers to effect repairs when this unfortunate incident occurred,” he added.
until expressing condolences to the deceased’s relatives, the Emir requested that worshippers pray outside the mosque until repairs were made.
The Emir directed that the funeral prayer of all the corpses be observed today at 8.30 pm at the emir’s palace.
