Board of Trustees of NNPP has suspended Kwankwaso over Alleged Anti-party Activities

The Board of Trustees of NNPP has suspended Kwankwaso over Alleged Anti-party Activities. The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Board of Trustees has suspended the party’s National Leader and 2023 presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, for six months for suspected anti-party conduct.

According to TVC news, Kwankwaso’s suspension as the party’s national leader comes only days after the National Working Committee (NWC) suspended Boniface Aniebonam, one of the party’s founders, and Agbo Major, the National Publicity Secretary.

The interim National Chairman, Abba Kawu Alli, claimed in a statement last week Thursday that Aniebonam’s suspension was due to his disorderly behavior, and that he believed the political platform was his personal estate.

The suspension was effective immediately, according to the party chairman, pending the conclusion of investigations by the party’s Disciplinary Committee.

Since the end of the 2023 elections, an internal crisis has been brewing quietly inside the NNPP, with allegations and counter-accusations amongst the various parties within the party.

The problem has to a head with the suspension of its presidential candidate in the 2023 election.
