Bandits claim responsibility for crashed helicopter in Niger. Terrorist bandits have claimed responsibility for the crashed surveillance helicopter in Badna, Chukuba ward, of Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

Recalls a surveillance helicopter that crashed in Badna, Mina, on Monday.

While meeting with the governor of Niger State in his office in Abuja on Monday, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, stated that weather conditions, among other factors, may have contributed to the helicopter crash, adding that an investigation had begun to determine the probable cause of the incident.

But the terrorists, in a two-minute-and-seventeen-second trending video, claimed they brought down the jet using an AK-47 rifle.

The narrator in the video, who spoke in Hausa, said they belonged to the Dogo Gide group, one of the notorious bandits that have been terrorising parts of Niger State, causing the deaths of many farmers and security operatives.
